As usual at this time of the week I’m concentrating on my Saturday column for the Daily Record and weekend selections and I as I was working on the sports desk last night I’ve not had much time to study Friday’s card.
Bearing that in mind I’m on this treble – Monaco, over 2.5 goals at Bayern and both to score at Bilbao. Monaco have started the season well and face a Lille side whose squad has been decimated from last season.
Bayern are no bigger than 1-9 and that’s partly because they have beaten Hamburg 6-0, 5-0, 9-2 and 8-0 in recent seasons. Finding value here is difficult but over 2.5 goals at 2-5 is just about worth taking.
We saw Barca’s brilliance in Tbilisi and their deficiencies as they won 5-4 against Sevilla after extra time. Just three days later they head for Bilbao and it will be interesting to see if any players are rested. Best bet could be both to score.
Other teams I like include Wexford -1 at home to Cabinteely and both to score at Derry v Dundalk with the leaders looking a bit short at 1-2 in the WDW market.
I thought about Aston Vill DNB for the Super Single but have decided to go with both to score at Villa Park at 11-10 with William Hill and BetVictor while Ladbrokes go evens.
