FOR me it’s all about Scotland tonight and I hate to say I’m backing against my team to lose to world champions Germany.
I had some hope before Friday’s Georgia shocker but I’ll be happy to be proved wrong by Gordon Strachan’s men.
I’ve posted a Euro 2016 preview that includes a look at all of tonight’s eight Euro 2016 qualifiers.
My Super Single has taken a battering over the weekend and just remains in profit. Yesterday I chanced Gareth Bale to score first but Israel held firm and Belgium -1 was a goal short with Cyprus playing much better than they did against the Welsh last week.
For the Top Treble I was spot on with under 2.5 goals in Italy (aren’t they always these days) but Wales and Iceland needed to win instead of drawing.
I prefer league football to internationals and there have been some funny results and poor games over the weekend but if you feel bad it could be worse. You could be a Holland fan!
And well done again to Greg for his over 2.5 goals tip in the Turkey match – and I’m pleased to see hum admitting he didn’t expect Turkey to score them all. That’s the beauty of goals bets – you don’t need to get the result right.
I’ve picked a couple of first scorers recently as my Super Single – some winners and some losers. After a tricky week of fixtures I’m going double or quits on Cristiano Ronaldo to score first away to Albania at 10-3 with William Hill.
If it loses I’ll be level after September week one and my next Super Singles will be on Hearts in the live Friday Premiership match.
To win they look big at 6-4 at Skybet. Hearts have netted two or more goals in every game this season and over 1.5 Jambos goals is 29-20 with William Hill. As it stands my maximum daily stake of 10pts will be on this game with 5pts going on Hearts draw no bet at 4-5 with Ladbrokes which also seems big.
You know what the say about eggs and baskets but I don’t mind risking the lost on on team – and anyway how much have Hearts won us over the past two seasons?
I’ve already been asked for my advice on Rangers and Dunfermline this weekend. I’ll be featuring both in the weekend tips but for now I’d say Rangers -2 at home to Livingston is a steal at 13-10 with Bet365 while -3 must have a chance at 3-1 with Bet365 after they defeated Raith 5-0 at the weekend.
In fact let’s go a bit daft and put up Rangers -2 and -3 as Super Singles. Might as well as those prices could drop although not all bookies have put them up so I’ll watch out for any better odds.
As far as the accumulators are concerned I only need to hit one good one to get back on track and that will happen sooner or later. It could even be tonight.
I’m taking a chance on four games going unders – over the past four days of Euro qualifers there have been more unders than overs and I can see the trend continuing.
As far as a Top Treble is concerned I’m going big with Germany -1, Denmark, Romania to win and a draw at Northern Ireland. This will be permed and has to be played for low stakes.
Individually all of these could come up – putting them in an accumulator makes it much tougher so be aware of that if you’re having a go.
Later this week I’ll be starting a debate on long odds v bankers so watch out for the post.
